Background:

The 18th Circuit Court Adult Drug Court Program has requested the County with the grant eligibility requirement to apply to the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance grant to enhance Adult Treatment Court Services. The award would be for four (4) years (starting 10/1/2024) for up to $1,000,000.00. If awarded, Seminole County will use the funding to expand the Adult Drug Court’s recovery services through access to long-term treatment, housing, vocational and educational services, transportation, and establishing a peer mentor program. This Grant was awarded to the County twice, in FY 2017 and FY 2020. The County applied in 2023 and was given a second review but was not given a final award.

This solicitation requires a 25 percent cash or in-kind match based on the total project’s cost. The match requirement would be provided by personnel support from the 18th Circuit Court and Seminole County including the Financial Grant Manager, Problem Solving Courts Manager, State Attorney, and Judge. This project will also request one (1) FTE grant-funded Case Manager for the Adult Drug Courts to oversee project implementation and support.
