Background:
CC-4638-22/TAD will provide all labor, material, permit fees, and general conditions for the construction of a new Fire Station #39 at 5639 1st Street, Sanford, FL 32771 to provide Fire/EMS services to the surrounding community.
The project was publicly advertised, and the County received seven (7) bids in response to the solicitation. The Review Committee consisting of Nick Brow, Construction Manager; Matt Hassan, P.E. Asst. County Engineer; and Jean Jreij, P.E. Director, all from the Public Works Department, reviewed the responses. Consideration was given to the bid price, experience, and qualifications.
Review of bids and references extended past the 60-day period to hold pricing. Due to market volatility, CIC was allowed to re-evaluate their bid and submit supporting documentation for an increase. After review, CIC remained the lowest, responsive, and responsible bidder. The increase was reflective of a 6% increase from sub-contractors and material suppliers and verified by supporting documentation.
The Review Committee recommends award to the lowest priced, responsive, responsible bidder CIC Construction Group USA, LLC, Orlando in the amount of $8,383,000.00. The completion time for this project is four hundred twenty (420) calendar days to substantial completion and an additional thirty (30) calendar days to final completion after execution of a Notice to Proceed by the County.
This is a budgeted project and funds will be available in Fire Station 39 Sanford-Lk Mry (02005012.560650.00001) upon approval and authorization by the Chairman to execute a Resolution implementing Budget Amendment Request (BAR) #23-035 in the Fire Protection and Fire Impact Fee Funds to transfer $3,985,095 from reserves.
