Background:
The State of Florida Division of Elections awards an annual Election Security Enhancement Grant to all 67 Counties in the State. This is in non-recurring funds from the 2022-2023 Federal Grants Trust Fund, pursuant to section 101 of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 (HAVA) and the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) 90.404. Grant funds are made available pursuant to Specific Appropriation 3136, Chapter 2022-156, Laws of Florida, to improve the administration of federal elections through security enhancements
Supervisor of Elections was recently awarded $150,876 through a Memorandum of Agreement, which expires on May 31, 2023. The funds will be used for a subscription to the Albert Monitoring Solution; a solution that monitors for suspicious network activity. Remaining funds will be used for the purchase of other technology upgrades or enhancements to improve voting security and accessibility.
The Supervisor of Elections Budget is $4,511,200 and with this amendment the total Budget will be $4,662,076.
