Background:
In August of 2025, Duke Energy requested that Seminole County grant an easement to Duke Energy in conjunction with their project to upgrade the overhead power lines along Ronald Reagan Boulevard to meet Duke Energy's substation optimization lateral hardening requirements. To accomplish this, Duke needs to install a new aerial service line crossing over the northeast corner of parcel 07-21-30-511-0B00-01A0 at the southwest corner of Magnolia Street and Ronald Reagan Boulevard. This parcel is currently being used as a County pond as part of the roadway drainage system for the Magnolia Street and Ronald Reagan Boulevard intersection. The easement will allow Duke Energy to install and maintain their equipment such as overhead power lines and a pole within the easement.
Public Works has no objections to the granting of the easement and the easement language has been reviewed and approved by the County Attorney’s Office.
