Background:
This parcel (No. 1-808) has been identified as being needed for a drainage easement necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project. The owner (Hagar Mae Wilmot / Tax ID No. 32-19-31-300-0320-0000) of the property located on the East Side of Granby Street, about 235 feet North of Crawford Drive, in Sanford, Florida, has agreed to sell and convey this drainage easement to Seminole County for the sum of $17,300.00, inclusive of all fees and costs.
The parent property is vacant and consists of 0.13± acres of land. The County’s valuation of this acquisition is $16,800.00, a portion of which includes the cost to cure to make the owner whole. The County’s incentivized offer amount was $16,800.00. After negotiations with property owner’s attorney, a settlement was reached in the amount of $17,300.00, inclusive of all fees and costs.

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Purchase Agreement related to Project Parcel No. 1-808 for a drainage easement necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project (993± SF) between Hager Mae Wilmot and Seminole County for $17,300.00, as full settlement and any other claim for compensation from which Seminole County might be obligated to pay relating to the parcel.
