Background:

The Amended and Restated Agreement formalizes the understanding between Seminole County and the Seminole County Property Appraiser regarding the Property Appraiser's duties to provide certain required information to the County and establish a process for including the non-ad valorem assessment notices on the Property Appraiser's notice of proposed property taxes and non-ad valorem assessments.

Seminole County has previously prepared a separate notice of non-ad valorem assessments and mailed in July to all properties that have non-ad valorem assessments.  With this agreement and in partnership with the Seminole County Property Appraiser, the non-ad valorem assessments will be included on the notice of proposed property taxes and non-ad valorem assessments mailed by the Property Appraiser in August, also known as the TRIM (Truth in Millage) notice.

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Amended and Restated Agreement between Seminole County and the Seminole County Property Appraiser to update references and procedural processes for notice of non-ad valorem assessments.
