Background:
The HUD Continuum of Care Grant Program formerly known as the Shelter Plus Care Program provides rental assistance and supportive services for chronically homeless households, primarily those who are seriously mentally ill; have chronic problems with alcohol, drugs, or both; or have Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and related diseases) and their families.
In March 2024, the Community Services Department received approval from HUD for a renewal grant award in the amount of $761,567 to continue to provide rental assistance and supportive services for the above-mentioned population.
Requested Action:
Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Continuum of Care Program Grant Agreement in the amount of $761,567 to assist the chronically homeless citizens in Seminole County.
