Background:
SS-5329-26/GCM - Medical Examiner Consultancy Services will provide joint guidance and expert opinion on design/construction of the facility outside the scope of the contract with Wharton-Smith.
Additionally, the Consultants will help the County establish and launch a fully operational Medical Examiner’s Office from organizational structure, staffing and recruitment plans, budget, operational policies, technology systems, forensic partnerships, emergency response plans, and community partnerships.
Given the limited availability of qualified Medical Examiner consultants, the absence of local or regional providers, and the specialized knowledge required, proceeding with a single-source procurement is the most practical and fiscally responsible option.
Authorization for performance under this Single Source will be in the form of Purchase Orders issued by the County. The total amount for this project is $179,375. Any additional services authorized by the County, as needed, will be in an amount not to exceed $21,250. The budget for this item is in account business unit #02606001
