Background:

The East Central Florida Regional Planning Council (ECFRPC), in association with Stetson University, utilizes a Marxan Model to identify conservation corridor areas within the Central Florida region. Stetson University will work with County officials to obtain local data on stormwater, wetland, right of way, and conservation areas with the goal of assessing vulnerabilities and developing strategies to help mitigate flooding issues in the County through long-term flood resilience planning. This approach will take place over a 2-year period and will involve data collection, modeling, a strategy report, and training of staff on the modeling.

The attached BAR will allocate $175K for the project. The scope of services is attached. Available funds are within the SR436 Multimodal Improvement Project (CIP#01785140). This project will be refunded with 4th-generation sales tax funds in the near future. There will be no impact on 2014 Infrastructure Sales Tax reserves.
