Background:
Pursuant to Chapter 154, Florida Statutes, the intent of the Legislature is to promote, protect, maintain, and improve the health and safety of all citizens and visitors of the State of Florida through a system of coordinated county health department services.
Each year, Seminole County contracts with the State of Florida Department of Health to provide funding and health services specified by the State to be delivered to the residents of Seminole County. The appropriation by Seminole County for FY2026-2027 is an amount not to exceed $807,970 which is the same level of commitment as the County provided under the FY24, FY25 and FY26 contracts.
Requested Action:
Staff requests that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Contract between Seminole County and the State of Florida Department of Health for Operation of the Seminole County Health Department contract year 2026-2027 in the amount not to exceed $807,970 to ensure continued coordination between the State and the County in the operation of the County Health Department and for the provision of services in FY2026-2027.
