Background:

On December 23, 2021, Golam Shawon was operating a Toyota Camry and minor Abrar Ahnaf was a rear seat passenger.  The Shawon vehicle stopped in traffic on SR 434, and an Animal Services Ford F250 kennel truck collided into the rear of the Shawon vehicle at an estimated 30 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone.  Our driver was issued a citation for careless driving.  Plaintiff filed the above-referenced lawsuit on January 18, 2023 in the Circuit Court of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit in and for Seminole County, Florida, and Plaintiff filed an Amended Complaint on February 14, 2023.  Based on medical records and bills provided through discovery, Mr. Shawon sustained various injuries and incurred medical bills exceeding $123,000.  Medical bills for Abrar Ahnaf exceeded $18,000.  As evidenced by the attached signed General Releases, Mr. Shawon, individually and as parent, guardian and next friend of Abrar Ahnaf, a minor, has authorized their counsel to execute a Joint Stipulation for Dismissal with Prejudice of the lawsuit to be filed with the Court by our counsel upon settlement.  The proposed settlement allocates $122,500 for Golam Shawon and $10,000 for Abrar Ahnaf, inclusive of attorney’s fees, for a full and complete settlement of any and all claims, rights and actions whatsoever that the Plaintiffs have or may have against Seminole County.
