Background:

On May 14, 2024, the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance No. 2024-12, outlining procedures for establishing and managing Tourism Improvement Districts. Recognizing tourism's vital role in the local economy, the County supported efforts by Tourism Property Owners to create a district for dedicated funding to enhance tourism-related services and improvements. After securing petitions representing over 50% of available rooms within the proposed district, the County’s Economic Development Administrator confirmed sufficient support. This ordinance (SCTID Ordinance) officially establishes the Seminole County Tourism Improvement District in line with county regulations.
