Background:

This parcel (#102) has been identified as being needed for property interests necessary for the Kentucky Street Improvement Project.  The owner (St. John’s River Water Management District / Tax ID #03-20-31-5AY-0000-081A) of the property located on the south side of Kentucky Street, in Sanford, Florida, has agreed to sell and convey said property interests to Seminole County for the sum of $1,100.00, plus estimated acquisition and closing costs of $5,050.00 identified in Exhibit “3” of the purchase agreement.

The parent property is an assemblage of multiple contiguous parcels that are vacant and consist (in total) of 2,852 ± acres of land.  The County’s valuation for this acquisition is $750.00.  After discussions with St. John’s River Water Management District, a settlement was reached at $1,100.00 for the easement and an additional $5,050.00 for acquisition and closing costs.

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Purchase Agreement related to Project Parcel #102 for property interests necessary for the Kentucky Street Improvement Project (1,615 ± SF in total) between St. John’s River Water Management District and Seminole County for  $1,100.00, plus estimated acquisition costs of $5,050.00.
