Background:
This parcel (No. 2-801) has been identified as being needed for a drainage easement necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project. The owner (Danus Utilities, Inc. / Tax ID No. 33-19-31-300-1200-0000) of the property located on the west side of North Beardall Avenue, approximately 210± feet (0.04 miles) south of Washington Street, in Sanford, Florida, has agreed to sell and convey this drainage easement to Seminole County for the sum of $35,510.00, inclusive of all fees and costs.
The parent parcel is improved with two commercial buildings and consists of 2.14± acres of land. The County’s valuation of this acquisition is $23,800.00, a portion of which includes the cost to cure to make the owner whole. The County’s incentivized offer amount was $35,510.00, which was accepted by the owner, inclusive of all fees and costs.
Requested Action:
Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Purchase Agreement related to Project Parcel No. 2-801 for a drainage easement necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project (828± SF) between Danus Utilities, Inc. and Seminole County for $35,510.00, as full settlement and any other claim for compensation from which Seminole County might be obligated to pay relating to the parcel.
