Background:
On December 14, 2021, ordinance number 2021-49 was adopted, creating the former Deer Run Golf Course property stabilization Municipal Services Benefit Unit (MSBU) to provide benefits to the residential properties surrounding the former golf course property with the right to use the property as a future public park and neighborhood amenity. The MSBU petition process provided substantiation that the owners of 70% of the benefited properties support the proposal to create an MSBU to fund the stabilization of the property. Through the MSBU program reserves, this BAR appropriates funds for repairs necessary to stabilize Deer Run Park facilities. The repairs will include HVAC replacement, demolition of the pool and pool deck, replacement and repair of windows, doors, and siding, and contingency, as shown in the attached cost table for $242,500. To date, $138,327 has been expended for the roof replacement of the clubhouse building.
MSBU Program fund reserves are currently budgeted at $1.1 million.
