Background:
CC-6179-24/TAD will provide construction of minor roadway improvements along Wekiva Springs Road to include the addition of a 350 foot right-turn deceleration lane at Sabal Palm Elementary School and new mast arm traffic signals at the intersection of Wekiva Springs Road and Sabal Point Drive.
The project was publicly advertised and the County received nine (9) bids in response to the solicitation. The Review Committee, which consists of Sam Moussa, Professional Engineer; Stephen Miller, Professional Engineer; and Ted Holmes, Chief Construction Engineer, all from the Public Works Engineering Division, reviewed the responses giving consideration to bid price, qualifications, and experience.
The Review Committee recommends award to the lowest priced, responsive, responsible bidder JMHC, Inc. of Orlando, FL in the amount of $1,832,536.12. The completion time for this project is three hundred (300) calendar days to Substantial Completion and an additional thirty (30) calendar days to Final Completion after the issuance of a Notice to Proceed by the County. The Engineer’s Estimate for the project is $2,478,902.72.
This is a budgeted project, and funds are available in Wekiva Springs Rd Intersect Imps (Acct# 02007027.560650.00001) and Wekiva Springs Inter - Grant (02307113.560650.00001). The latter account line is funded through a State Funded Grant Agreement (SFGA) from FDOT in the amount of $500,000.

Staff requests that the Board award CC-6179-24 Wekiva Springs Road Intersection Improvements to JMHC, Inc. of Orlando, FL in the amount of $1,832,536.12, and authorize the Purchasing and Contracts Division to execute the Agreement.
