Background:

This parcel (No. 2-842) has been identified as being needed for property necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project. The owner (Islen M. Barriga Ponce / Tax ID No. 33-19-31-300-1260-0000) of the property located at 2001 North Beardall Avenue on the east side of North Beardall Avenue, at its intersection with Hughey Street, in Sanford, Florida, has agreed to sell and convey this property to Seminole County for the sum of $55,000.00, inclusive of all fees and costs.

 

The parent parcel is improved with a single-family residence and other ancillary site improvements and consists of 0.46± acres of land. The County’s valuation of this acquisition is $38,000.00, a portion of which includes the cost to cure to make the owner whole. The County’s incentivized offer amount was $54,480.00.  After negotiation with the owner a settlement was reached at $55,000.00, inclusive of all fees and costs.

 

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Purchase Agreement related to Project Parcel No. 2-842 for a warranty deed necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project (3,660.58± SF) between Islen M. Barriga Ponce and Seminole County for $55,000.00, as full settlement and any other claim for compensation from which Seminole County might be obligated to pay relating to the parcel.
