Background:

This parcel (No. 2-848) has been identified as being needed for a drainage easement necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project. The owner (John and Robin Heinz LLC / Tax ID No. 33-19-31-300-0140-0000) of the property located on the east side of North Beardall Avenue, approximately 930± feet (0.176 miles) south of Celery Avenue, in Sanford, Florida, has agreed to sell and convey this drainage easement to Seminole County for the sum of $81,370.00, inclusive of all fees and costs.

 

The parent parcel is improved with an industrial warehouse and storage facility and consists of 9.305± acres of land.  The County’s valuation of this acquisition is $58,300.00, a portion of which includes the cost to cure to make the owner whole. The County’s incentivized offer amount was $81,370.00, which was accepted by the owner, inclusive of all fees and costs.

 

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Purchase Agreement related to Project Parcel No. 2-848 for a drainage easement necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project (4,053± SF) between John and Robin Heinz LLC and Seminole County for  $81,370.00, as full settlement and any other claim for compensation from which Seminole County might be obligated to pay relating to the parcel.
