Background:
The Seminole County Animal Services Division operates a high-capacity animal cremation facility that provides dignified disposition services for animals euthanized due to illness, injury, disease, and other medical conditions.
The current cremation unit has been in operation for more than 20 years and has reached the end of its useful service life. Replacement of the unit is necessary to ensure continued, reliable operation and compliance with animal welfare and environmental standards.
2024 Infrastructure Sales Tax Fund Reserves are currently budgeted at $34 million.
Requested Action:
Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Resolution implementing Budget Amendment Request (BAR) #26-038 in the 2024 Infrastructure Sales Tax Fund to transfer $175,000 from reserves for replacement of the cremation unit at Animal Services.
