Background:
The Seminole County Port Authority was created by an Act of the State Legislature in 1965 in order to provide a political body to construct and operate a facility known as the Port of Sanford. The Port is currently self-supporting and has not received ad valorem tax support since FY 1981/82.
Pursuant to Chapter 2010-240, section 4(1), Laws of Florida, the Seminole County Port Authority must submit its proposed budget to the Board of County Commissioners by July 15 and must establish, with the Board, a public hearing date on or before August 31.
The Seminole County Port Authority has provided copies of the FY 2026/27 proposed budget to the Board of County Commissioners.
The FY 2026/27 budget includes a surplus contribution to the BCC of $250,000.
