Background:
This Memorandum of Understanding is a continuation of a partnership between the County and the University of Central Florida (WUCF) whereby WUCF agrees to continue to utilize its FM radio station broadcast capabilities to disseminate vital information to the public during declared states of emergency. The continuation of this partnership is crucial to creating a broad emergency broadcast network to ensure the safety and security of the central Florida region during a declared state of emergency.
Requested Action:
Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Memorandum of Understanding with WUCF for emergency communication during disasters.
