Background:
The Federal Communications Commission designated 3-1-1 for access to non-emergency police and other governmental services, providing communities with an alternative to calling 9-1-1 for situations that do not require an immediate emergency response. The Service Level Agreement will allow Verizon phones to connect with the County switchboard when dialing 3-1-1 on a cellular device.

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Service Level Agreement with Verizon Corporation for use of 3-1-1.
