Background:

Parcel #1-852 has been identified as necessary for a drainage easement required for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project. The property, located at the southwest corner of Sipes Avenue and Midway Avenue, is owned by Nathaniel Scurry II (Tax ID #32-19-31-513-0000-1910).  The owner has agreed to sell and convey this drainage easement to Seminole County for the sum of $17,360.00, inclusive of all fees and costs.

 

The parent property is vacant and consists of 0.10 ± acres of land.  The County’s valuation of this acquisition is $10,700.00, which includes a portion allocated to cure and ensure the owner is made whole.  The County’s incentivized offer amount was $17,360.00, which was accepted by the owner, inclusive of all fees and costs.

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Purchase Agreement related to parcel #1-852 for a drainage easement necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project (1,037.7 ± SF) between Nathaniel Scurry II and Seminole County for $17,360.00, as full settlement and any other claim for compensation from which Seminole County might be obligated to pay relating to the parcel.
