Background:
The SR434 Roundabouts Project (CIP# 02107092) is a grant funded project associated with the SR 434 corridor enhancements project (CIP#01785145). The Florida Department of Transportation is providing design funding to install roundabouts at three (3) locations from west of Jetta Point to South of Artesia St. The original agreement was executed by the Board of County Commissioners in November 2020 and amended in 2021. The scope has been revised to include design modifications to the existing roadway including widening to accommodate raised medians, additional turn lanes, drainage, and shared use path and sidewalk. This second amendment will include revisions to the scope by adding the development of four alternative concepts to minimize Right of Way impacts along SR434. The second amendment was presented and approved by the Board at the June 11 BCC meeting.
The attached BAR will allocate an additional $443,210 in LAP funds from FDOT. The contract award amount for design is $2,632,584. The current grant funding amount is $2,100,942. The additional funds plus funding already established from the sales tax portion of this project in the amount of $88,432 will cover the awarded contract. A Cost table is attached.
