Background:

Seminole County has an existing contract with the State of Florida to provide emergency alerting and notification to the public.  Through this agreement, the counties are able to authorize the cities in their jurisdiction access to push emergency messages for their residents.  To date, the City of Altamonte Springs has been the only city to request access, and an MOU was approved for Altamonte Springs.  This is the second city to request access.  After direct communication with each city, no other cities have expressed interest.

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Memorandum of Agreement with the City of Casselberry for the use of Seminole County’s alerting system.
