Background:

The Orlando Economic Partnership is a not-for-profit, public/private partnership that offers a full range of economic development services to businesses seeking to locate or expand in Central Florida. The organization’s top priorities include creating high-wage, high-value jobs, expanding Central Florida’s global reach and competitiveness, supporting and enhancing education preparedness in the talent pipeline, strengthening advocacy for improved infrastructure and community resources, and creating an enviable quality of life that is broad-based and sustainable.

A variety of economic development performance standards are outlined in the Agreement, all related to the goal of supporting Seminole County with diversification and expansion of the local economy.

Performance standards include:

Promote Seminole County as a location for business operations, economic development, branching, and employment through its local, national, and international marketing campaigns;

Provide notification to Seminole County Economic Development of prospective businesses and include a County representative in meetings, tours, and other relevant discussions and communications;

Provide quarterly performance reports;

Provide an annual briefing to the Board of County Commissioners;

Provide exposure and marketing of available office and industrial real estate within Seminole County;

Serve as a resource for economic development data, demographics, marketing, and advertising;

Provide a seat for a member of the BCC County Commissioner to serve on the Orlando Economic Partnership Board of Directors.

The funding request is $406,490 for FY2024/25. This amount has been budgeted within the County's Economic Development budget and remains flat with the previous investment year.
