Background:
The County is undertaking the construction of a new Seminole County Fire Station 25 to replace the existing 6,140-square-foot, two-bay facility with a modern 12,185-square-foot, three-bay fire station designed to meet current operational needs and future growth. The new station is strategically located at 105 Wilshire Boulevard in Casselberry, adjacent to the Casselberry Police Department, creating a centralized public safety presence for the surrounding community.
The attached BAR through the Fire Protection Fund will allocate $5,835,849 to business unit 02105063 FIRE STATION 25 CASSELBERRY. The GMP was approved at the February 24th BOCC meeting for $12,215,499. Additional services costing $1,375,254 bring the budgetary need to $13,590,753. Currently, $7,754,904 is budgeted in the Fire Protection Fund and the Casselberry Fire Impact Fee Fund. BAR 26-024 will allocate $5,835,849 needed to fully fund the project. These funds are being transferred from the Fire Station 28 project that has been reprioritized in the Fire Department's Capital Improvement Plan.
