Background:
Public Works is requesting to establish two sidewalk projects. The Tucker Dr. Sidewalk Project (CIP# 02407116) will construct 930 linear feet of new 4-foot wide concrete sidewalk along Tucker Drive. The lowest bid received was with Carr & Collier in the amount of $337,242, plus a 5% contingency is added to this budget amendment. The Brentwood Ave Sidewalk (CIP#02407117) will construct 695 linear feet of new 5-foot wide sidewalk along Brentwood Ave. CFE was the lowest bidder on this project at $242,713.25, plus a 5% contingency is added to this budget amendment.
In addition, Public Works is requesting additional funds for the Oranole Rd Sidewalk Project (CIP#02207081). The current budget is $224K, and the lowest bid was $342K. The department is requesting an additional $135K, which includes a 5% contingency.
Funds for these two new projects and the Oranole Rd Sidewalk Project are available from the Dirt Road Paving Project (CIP#02007094) and 2014 Infrastructure Sales Tax Fund reserves. Current reserves are budgeted at $21.8M.
