Background:

The U.S. Department of Transportation Active Transportation Infrastructure Investment Program (ATIIP) extended the application deadline to 7/17/24 for active transportation mobility.  The ATIIP grant application for Public Works will be a construction grant to assist with the funding for the Orange Boulevard Improvement project requesting up to $12,000,000 in Federal funding to include bicycle lanes and a new multiuse trail.

ATIIP has a 20% matching requirement for this project. Seminole County Orange Boulevard Improvement project has over $21 million appropriated in the FY24 budget and will use this funding for the matching requirement. 

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board ratify the submitted grant application to the U.S. Department of Transportation for the Active Transportation Infrastructure Investment Program requesting up to $12,000,000 for the Orange Boulevard Improvements project; and authorize the County Manager or designee to execute the grant application and supporting documents as required for the grant.
