Background:

Chapter 394, Part IV, Florida Statutes, known as the “Community Alcohol, Drug Abuse, and Mental Health Services Act” provides for a program of comprehensive community mental health services and authorizes counties within the State of Florida to participate in funding.

The Aspire Health Partners (Aspire) provides mental health and substance use disorder services in Seminole County and will utilize contract funds to provide mental health and substance use disorder crisis stabilization services. This provision of specialized crisis stabilization services is critical for residents who are experiencing a mental health crisis and are a danger to themselves or others.

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Aspire Health Partners, Inc. Agreement for Mental Health Services which will allot $183,000 annually every fiscal year for a period of five (5) years commencing on FY2025-26, to go towards the provision of mental health and substance use disorder crisis stabilization services to Seminole County residents.
