Background:

The Midway Loop Trail expansion project will require the construction and maintenance of a portion of the trail system on a property not currently owned by Seminole County.  Florida Department of Transportation is the current owner of the real property bearing Tax ID# 32-19-31-300-024D-0000 which is no longer necessary for their transportation purposes. Authorized under section 337.25, Florida Statutes (2024), FDOT has agreed to transfer property interests to Seminole County the property for the sole public purpose of expanding the Midway Loop Trail.

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Public Purpose Transfer Agreement, the Resolution of Acceptance for the Quit Claim Deed, and Perpetual Drainage Easement between Florida Department of Transportation and Seminole County for fee simple property interests necessary for the Midway Loop Trail expansion project.
