Background:

The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) is pleased to invite your agency, Seminole County Government, to apply for funding under the FY 2026 COPS Technology and Equipment Program (TEP) Invitational Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) in the amount of $1,900,000.00 for the following technology and equipment project: "Seminole County Sheriff's Vehicular Mobile Radio Upgrade Project."

FY 2026 TEP provides funding to state, territorial, local, Tribal, and other entities designated for Community Project Funding / Congressionally Directed Spending in the Commerce, Justice. Science, and Related Agencies Joint Explanatory Statement (JES) for the Commerce, Justice, Science, Energy and Water Development, and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act, 2026 (Public Law 119-74). Although FY 2026 TEP is a noncompetitive program, to receive the grant award, all eligible funding recipients must complete an online application that includes specific, detailed budget and narrative information outlining the agency's project. The grant covers 100% of project costs, with 0% match from the applicant.
