Background:

The Public Transit Service Development Program was enacted by the Florida Legislature to provide initial funding for special projects. The program is authorized under Chapter 341, Florida Statutes and specific program guidelines are outlined in the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) State Management Plan. This discretionary grant program is selectively applied to determine whether a new or innovative technique or measure can be used to improve or expand public transit services.  The Seminole County Micro-Transit Program will solicit funding under the category of “New mode of service implementation”.  The grant requires a 50% match from the County and provides funding for up to three years.
