Background:

Parcel #1-859 has been identified as necessary for a drainage easement for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project.  The owner, G. Charles Wohlust, as Personal Representative of the Estate of Estella Williams, deceased (Tax ID #33-19-31-507-0000-0910) have agreed to sell and covey this easement to Seminole County for $19,320.00, inclusive of all fees and costs. The property is located at the southwest corner of Greenway Avenue and Midway Avenue in Sanford, Florida.

 

The parent property is improved with a single family residence and ancillary improvements and consists of 0.18 ± acres of land.  The County’s valuation of this acquisition is $12,100.00; a portion of which includes the cost to cure to make the owner whole.  The County’s incentivized offer amount was $19,320.00 and was accepted by the owner, inclusive of all fees and costs.

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Purchase Agreement related to Parcel #1-859, acquiring 862 ± SF drainage easement necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project. The agreement is between G. Charles Wohlust, as Personal Representative of the Estate of Estella Williams, deceased and Seminole County for $19,320.00, as full settlement and any other claim for compensation from which Seminole County might be obligated to pay relating to the parcel.
