Background:
In November, 2010, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) approved a five (5) year lease agreement with the Seminole Sheriff's Office and the State of Florida Department of Law Enforcement for 150 square feet of space. This space is used as a second storage site for computer data, and the location is therefore exempt from public disclosure. The lease became effective on December 1, 2010 for a term of five (5) years with an option to renew for two (2) successive periods of two (2) years each. On July 23, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) approved an extension to the lease agreement for a five (5) year term with an option to renew for two (2) successive periods of two (2) years each. The five (5) year term matured on November 30, 2024. On June 25, 2024, The BCC approved the First Renewal and First Amendment which renewed the lease for the first period of two (2) years which took effect on December 1, 2024 to November 30, 2026.
The proposed Final Renewal and Second Amendment renews the lease for the final two (2) years from December 1, 2026 to November 30, 2028. Notice section has been updated to reflect new mailing address for County. Rental rate remains at $1,000 per month or $12,000 per year.
