Background:

This parcel (No. 1-825) has been identified as being needed for a drainage easement necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project. The owners (Faye Elaine Pringle and Edna S. Hunter / Tax ID No. 32-19-31-513-0000-1030) of the property located on the east side of Granby Street,  approximately 80± feet (0.015 miles) south of Midway Avenue, in Sanford, Florida, have agreed to sell and convey this drainage easement to Seminole County for the sum of $12,950.00, inclusive of all fees and costs.

 

The parent property is vacant and consists of 0.29± acres of land. The county’s valuation of this acquisition is $5,700.00, a portion of which includes the cost of cure to make the owner whole. The County’s incentivized offer amount was $10,050.00. After negotiations with the owner through their attorney, a settlement was reached at $12,950.000, inclusive of all fees and costs.

 

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Purchase Agreement related to Project Parcel No. 1-825 for a drainage easement necessary for the Midway Drainage Improvement Project (483.23± SF) between Faye Elaine Pringle and Edna S. Hunter and Seminole County for  $12,950.00, as full settlement and any other claim for compensation from which Seminole County might be obligated to pay relating to the parcel.
