Background:

On August 23, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) approved the lease agreement for 1,840 square foot warehouse storage space at the Brio Business Center at 1279 West Airport Blvd, Sanford, FL 32773. Current lease matures on August 31, 2027, with no remaining renewals.

 

The proposed First Amendment adds suite 1287 to the lease containing approximately 1,760 square feet of space to be utilized by Emergency Management for storage of various donations and hurricane related items/equipment. The rent for the new space will be prorated for the month of December from December 16th to December 31st in the amount of $1,124.13. Starting January 1, 2025, the rent will be $2,178/month or $26,136/year. The rent will increase every January 1st starting January 1, 2026, by either CPI or 3% whichever is less. The lease can be terminated with a 180-day written notice. The Landlord continues to be responsible for all exterior maintenance, water/sewer charges, and garbage collection. The County is responsible for all interior maintenance, pest control, and electricity costs.

 

General Fund Reserves are currently budgeted at $51.7 million.
