Background:

As defined in Florida Statute 200.065, Truth In Millage (TRIM) is a legally mandated process to notify taxpayers and the public of their property tax rates. The purpose of this item is for Board approval of the proposed millage rates and set the date, time, and location of the First Public Hearing to tentatively adopt the FY 2026/27 Budget. Once approved, the proposed millage rates will be included in the “Notice of Proposed Taxes” mailed to property owners in August.

Proposed Millage Rates:

The FY 2026/27 proposed millage rates are as follows:

                     5.3751 mills  Countywide General Fund

                     2.7649 mills  Fire/Rescue MSTU

                     0.1107 mills  Unincorporated Road MSTU.

All proposed millages are the same as the existing rates.

Public Hearings are proposed as follows:

1st Public Hearing - Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 5:30pm, BCC Chambers

2nd Public Hearing - Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 5:30pm, BCC Chambers

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve the proposed millage rates and set the date, time, and place for the First Public Hearing to tentatively adopt the Fiscal Year 2026/27 County Budget.
