Background:

On January 9, 2024, Seminole County adopted Ordinance 2024-2, repealing and replacing Chapter 30 of the Seminole County Land Development Code.

Ordinance 2024-2 adopted changes to Chapter 30, Part 9, Section 30.9.4, Truck Parking in Residential Zone Districts, of the Seminole County Land Development Code (“LDC”) to increase the gross vehicle weight of trucks parked in residentially zoned areas from two (2) tons to 14,000 pounds and to exclude personal pickup trucks and recreational vehicles from weight and classification limitations. This change aligned the County’s regulations with modern personal truck types and sizes.

An amendment to Article VII, Chapter 250 (Traffic), Section 250.75 (Truck Parking in Residentially Zoned districts) of the Seminole County Code of Ordinances is necessary to be consistent with the previously adopted amendment to Section 30.9.4 of the Seminole County Land Development Code. Adoption of this Ordinance will ensure a consistent regulatory scheme for truck parking in residential districts.
