Background:

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) with pass-through to the Florida Department of Emergency Management (FDEM) has awarded the reimbursement contract for the County's expenditures due to Hurricane Nicole. The general contract allows the County to submit Project Worksheets (PW) to the State for reimbursement from FEMA. The County Manager or designee will have authorization to sign all related documents, Modifications and forms for reimbursement upon execution of this original contract for this project. The reimbursement is anticipated to be approximately $950,000 for Hurricane Nicole.

Requested Action:

Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) passed through from Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) to cover FEMA allowable reimbursement of services during the time period for Hurricane Nicole, and authorize the County Manager or designee to sign all related documents, Modifications and forms to this contract.
