Background:

BID-604667-23/LAS will provide an experienced, qualified Contractor to install a Direct Source Capture Exhaust Extraction System (SCES) for the newly constructed Fire Station 11, located at 2721 S. Ronald Reagan Boulevard, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701. Source Capture Exhaust System (SCES) can be defined as a system where gases from a vehicle are captured directly via a conduit that attaches over the end of the vehicle's exhaust system at the tailpipe. Captured exhaust gases are expelled through the attached conduit via mechanical means to the exterior of the building. Contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to put in working operation a complete turnkey system to remove both diesel and automotive gases/particulates of operating vehicles within the confines of the fire station(s). This system will include two (2) Pull-Through & two (2) Back-in.

This project was publicly advertised, and the County received one (1) submittal in response to the solicitation.

Recommendation of award for this project goes to the lowest priced, responsive, responsible bidder, SafeAir Corporation, Sarasota, FL.

Authorization for services by the selected contractor will be in the form of written Purchase Order(s) issued and executed by the County. The estimated amount of these services and equipment is $176,334.65. Funds are available in the account line 02405030.560650.

Requested Action:

Staff requests that the Board award BID-604667-23/LAS- Direct Source Capture Exhaust System for Fire Station 11 to SafeAir Corporation, Sarasota, FL, at an estimated amount of $176,334.65 and authorize the Purchasing and Contracts Division to execute the agreement.
