Background:
The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) is authorized by Section 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief Act. The funding assists communities to implement measures to reduce or eliminate long-term risk to people and property from natural hazards and their impacts. The Seminole County Resiliency Working Group has approved the Lincoln Heights-Ravenna Park Flood Drainage Improvement project under the HMGP Hurricane Milton. The County is requesting $5.85 million of federal funding with a balance of $1.95 matching funds for a total of $7.8 million for this project.
HMGP projects require a 25% match of the total project cost, which is divided into two phases: Phase I for design and permitting, and Phase II for construction.
