Background:
On November 12, 2024, the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners (“Board”) approved the Locally Funded Agreement between the State of Florida, Department of Transportation (“FDOT”) and the Central Florida Commuter Rail Commission (“CFCRC”), which provides a mechanism for funding SunRail as of the Financial Transition Date of December 31, 2024 (“LFA”).
For calendar year 2025, the LFA provides for an estimated CFCRC budget in the amount of $65,344,339 and Seminole County’s allocation in the amount of $12,098.668. For calendar year 2026, the LFA provides for an estimated CFCRC budget in the amount of $61,785,926 and Seminole County’s allocation in the amount of $11,338,104.
Based upon the actual ridership from October 2023 and September 2024 and the Operating and Capital Budget for 25/26 from FDOT, the estimated CFCRC budget for 2026 is $63,478,598 and Seminole County’s allocation is calculated in the amount of $11,559,833.
