Background:
In January 2023, the Board authorized staff to apply for a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant requesting $1,000,000 for the Spring Hammock Park Preserve CIP project and authorized the County Manager to execute the grant agreement. In August 2023 the County was notified that they were awarded the grant and the department was required to provide additional documentation prior to receiving the Contract for the grant. The contract was signed by the County Manager in December 2023. BAR #24-025 will appropriate $1,000,000 of grant award along with $511,157.67 from Natural Land Project Reserves to appropriate the grant funds and matching requirement for the grant award.
Requested Action:
Staff requests the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Resolution implementing Budget Amendment Request (BAR) #24-025 in the Leisure Services Grant Fund to appropriate budget for the Spring Hammock Water Conservation Grant in the amount of $1,000,000, and to transfer from Natural Land Project Reserves in the amount of $511,157.67 to cover the grant match requirement for the grant award.
