Background:

The U.S. Department of Justice has announced funding programs that support cross-system collaboration to improve public safety responses and outcomes for individuals with mental health disorders or co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The award would be for 3 years for up to $550,000. If awarded, Seminole County will use the funding to expand the Mental Health Court Program by increasing the capacity of participants served and providing housing assistance to qualified participants.

This solicitation requires a 20 percent cash or in-kind match during the first two years and a 40 percent match in year three. The match requirement would be provided by personnel support from the 18th Circuit Court, Seminole County, and ASPIRE Health Partners including the Financial Grant Manager, Problem Solving Courts Manager, State Attorney, Judge, and ASPIRE administration support.
