Background:
The Orlando/Orange Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) region was awarded $3,610,000 in FY22 UASI grant funds to focus on planning, organization, equipment, training, and exercise needs of high-threat, high-density Urban Areas, and assists them in building an enhanced and sustainable capacity to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism. The Orlando/Orange UASI metropolitan statistical area determined by the Office of Management and Budget consists of the City of Orlando, Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole county agencies.
